Summer Program for Kids 2011!

Register now for Red Rooster Café’s 2011 Kids Summer Fun Classes! This summer we are excited to offer unique and exciting summer fun activities for children in our historic venue. In a fun and safe setting your child will enjoy learning a new skill or craft common in simpler times of the past! As we explore these unique crafts and traditions we hope to help your child appreciate how times have changed and how much fun it can be along the way!

Class sizes are limited to five students and will include a snack.

Course Descriptions

Beginning Spanish – Our beginner’s Spanish will focus on conversational Spanish in a travel setting. Children will enjoy learning about the language and learn common phrases and standard responses, such as “Donde Esta el Bano”? (Where is the bathroom?).

Beginning Embroidery – Students will learn how basic embroidery stitches and the cross-stitch. Each student will make a simple project. Projects will be displayed along with examples of embroidery from the past.

Beginning Sewing -- Learn basic machine sewing. The class is for ages 7 and up. Sewing machine overview including parts of the machine, how to tread machine and bobbin. A simple craft project,such as a pillow, square bag or apron will be constructed. If you have a portable sewing machine, you are encouraged to bring it. Please provide the following

Basic Cooking - Learn how to prepare a few simple dishes, such as a simple soup and salad meal, homemade marshmallow candy, cookies and or pie. We will conclude the class with a fun dress up sit down meal!

Intro to Etiquette – Learn proper etiquette, good manners and the importance of kind and considerate behavior. A focus on proper introductions, everyday basic manners kindness counts, including how to be a good sport; communications skills, such as unacceptable discussion topics and cell phone etiquette; and table manners. We will conclude our class with a dress up sit down meal to practice!

Public Speaking - Learn how to deliver a speech in public. The class will focus on a topic that the student is familiar with, drafting his/her speech, and proper delivery techniques such as expression, volume and diction. At the end of the class we will practice public speaking by delivering our speech.

Arts & Crafts – Creation of fabric appliqués, hair accessories and note cards.Bows, etc.

First flamenco performance!




We are having new registrations for next period of classes beggining in September 23 rd.
All ages welcome. Every Thursdays from 5:00 pm- 5:45 the younger students and Saturdays from 4:30 pm- 5:30 pm for older girls. Come join Us!!

FLAMENCO CLASSES

Being always admire of the Spanish dance flamenco, I took some classes from a lady teacher from Spain that own academy ' Galliano' of Flamenco dance in Guatemala, later when I enter to study at the national Conservatory of music and scenic Arts in Guatemala City I became the president of the students organization and I started to various presentations and performing for different occasions.
Later I came to U.S.A and I was invited to participate doing a flamenco dance at the Silkier park for an event later I did some presentation of Flamenco and the community college for the international students association.
I taught dancing at the Friendship program in Austin for internationals.
I work at a children school at Paraiso infantil for a year, I create a chorography name dreaming for a Better World.
I took a workshop from the Academy from Spain 'El Greco'.
And now I want to share this with You!
